In a monumental strike against the narcotics trade, the Taraba State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dealt a crushing blow to drug trafficking syndicates.

During a precision-guided operation on June 13, 2026, agents successfully intercepted and seized over 1,121 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa in the town of Maihula, located within the Bali Local Government Area.

The operation, hailed as one of the command’s most significant achievements to date, resulted in the apprehension of 45-year-old Ali Adamu.

The massive quantity of illicit substance totaling approximately 1.12 metric tonnes, was discovered stored within a warehouse allegedly controlled by the suspect.

Taraba State NDLEA Commander, Javanson Talayedi Kwalma, lauded the success of the mission, emphasizing that the agency remains relentless in its pursuit of dismantling drug rings that threaten the safety of local communities.

The Seizure included 70 bags of Cannabis Sativa, weighing 1,121.5 kilograms.

The Suspect, Ali Adamu, 45, is currently in custody, providing critical intelligence to investigators as they widen the net to capture other co-conspirators.

The command further attributed the success of this high-stakes operation to a combination of effective field intelligence and robust cooperation between key stakeholders.

Commander Kwalma expressed gratitude toward NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), and Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for their continuous support in the fight against drug-related crime.
