The Bauchi State Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mohammad Abdullahi Abubakar has nominated a former commissioner of Rural Development and Special Duties under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed, as deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
One of the State Executive of the party in Bauchi, Sallah Kafi told Daily Trust that Abubakar and the leadership of the party has submitted the name and particulars of Mustapha as the running mate.
He said: “I just came from Abuja after the submission and the name of Farouk Mustapha was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as deputy governorship candidate of APC in Bauchi State,” Kafi said.
In a letter of his resignation signed May, shortly after the governor and other officials announced their defection to the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Mustapha resigned alongside other Commissioners after Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has directed all political appointees seeking elective offices to resign on or before 24 April 2027.
Mustapha also resigned his membership from the Allied Progressive Movement (APM) dated 5th May 2026 and addressed to the Ward Chairman of APM Bakin Kasuwa, Katagum LGA.
