Yilwatda Commissions Projects, Flags-Off Free Medical Outreach in Taraba

JALINGO, TARABA STATE — The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has commissioned multiple developmental projects and flagged off a comprehensive free medical outreach in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

The commissioning ceremonies took place over the weekend as part of activities commemorating Yilwatda’s 58th birthday celebration.

Health Minister Commends Taraba Healthcare Focus

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, lauded Yilwatda for choosing Taraba State as the focal point for his birthday interventions.

Prof. Pate emphasized that prioritizing healthcare remains a critical pillar for socio-economic progress, national cohesion, and unity.

“A healthy citizenry is central to the progress and prosperity of any nation,” Pate stated.

Furthermore, he commended the Taraba State Government, the National Assembly, and local stakeholders for collaborating on the intervention.

FMC Jalingo Leadership Lauds Infrastructure Boost

Dr. Aisha Adamu Mohammed, CMD of FMC Jalingo, noted that choosing the tertiary institution reflects a commitment to medical excellence.

She affirmed that the newly commissioned facilities and services will directly enhance quality patient care and clinical delivery across Taraba State.

Yilwatda Urges Private Support

Speaking to journalists after the commissioning, Prof. Yilwatda said his commitment to humanitarian work long predated his political career.

He explained that public office merely offers a larger platform to expand social safety nets for vulnerable citizens.

Consequently, he called on political leaders and wealthy individuals not to leave social welfare entirely to state governors.

“Social welfare interventions should not be left solely to state governors. Public-spirited individuals and leaders across the country must step up to assist the less privileged within their capacity,” Yilwatda urged.
