The Southern Borno Concerned Citizens Forum (SBCC) has commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for organising a historic ‘Appreciation Tour’ across Southern Borno following the emergence of Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa (AAI) as the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate.
In a statement on Monday signed by its National Chairman, Hon. Bulama Sawa, the Forum said the tour served as a powerful demonstration of unity, inclusion and appreciation by the people of Southern Borno for the APC’s decision to nominate one of the region’s most respected public servants.
According to the statement, the tour, led by APC Governorship Candidate, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, alongside his running mate, Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa, attracted overwhelming support from traditional rulers, political leaders, elders, youths, women, students and party supporters across the zone.
The Forum noted that one of the most remarkable aspects of the tour was the warm reception accorded to the delegation across the five Emirates and four Local Government Areas visited.
It said residents consistently expressed gratitude to the APC leadership for selecting a candidate widely regarded as humble, compassionate and committed to public service.
A major highlight of the tour was the royal reception at the Biu Emirate, the maternal home of Hon. Ali Abdullahi Isa. During the visit, the Emir of Biu reportedly affirmed that the APC deputy governorship candidate is a true son of the soil and praised the contributions of his father, Mallam Abdullahi Alkali Isa Miringa, to public service and community development.
The Forum further highlighted Hon. Isa’s more than three decades of service in the Borno State civil service, including key roles at the Government House and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), where he contributed significantly to humanitarian interventions during periods of insurgency and displacement.
SBCC expressed appreciation to traditional institutions, community leaders and residents for their support, stating that the tour had strengthened public confidence in the APC ahead of the 2027 political season.
