Members of the Christian Youths Mobilization Front (CYMF) in Bauchi State on Thursday organized a grand endorsement, solidarity and support rally for all candidates of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, held at E4 Resort in Bauchi, attracted CYMF members from across the state, who unanimously declared their support for the party’s candidates and pledged to embark on door-to-door campaigns to mobilize voters.
Speaking at the rally, the Chairman of CYMF, Andy Bature, described the gathering as a historic moment for Christian youths in the state. “Today is a special day. It is a day when we have come together not merely as politicians, party supporters, or members of different communities, but as citizens who share a common dream—a dream of a peaceful, united and prosperous Bauchi State,” he said.
Bature explained that the endorsement followed extensive consultations among Christian youths, church leaders, community stakeholders and supporters across various constituencies.
According to him, the group resolved to publicly declare its support for the candidates of the Allied Peoples’ Movement based on their perceived competence and track records. The CYMF chairman announced the group’s endorsement of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, who is contesting for the Bauchi South Senatorial seat under the APM platform.
“We endorse him because true leadership is measured not by promises but by performance, not by words but by results,” Bature stated. He credited the governor with investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment and human capital development, describing his leadership as inclusive and development-oriented.
The group also endorsed the APM governorship candidate, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, and his running mate, Mahmood Babamaji.
Bature said the endorsement was based on conviction and confidence in the candidates’ ability to provide purposeful leadership for the state.
“We believe that Hon. Yakubu Adamu represents a new generation of leadership anchored on knowledge, integrity, innovation and a deep understanding of the challenges facing Bauchi State,” he said.
He added that Babamaji’s grassroots connection, administrative experience and commitment to community development complement the governorship candidate’s vision.
The CYMF chairman further stated that the group was inspired by the candidates’ commitment to building a state where citizens, regardless of religion, ethnicity, social status or political affiliation, have equal opportunities to thrive.
The organization also extended its endorsement to all APM candidates contesting senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats in the state.
Bature stressed that the endorsement was not merely a political declaration but a statement of confidence, trust and hope in the future of Bauchi State. He urged Christian youths to remain peaceful throughout the electioneering period and avoid violence, hate speech and other actions capable of disrupting public peace.
“We must become ambassadors of peace. Elections come and go, but our relationships as neighbours and citizens remain,” he said.
He also extended a hand of friendship to the Muslim community, emphasizing that the future of Bauchi State can only be built through collective efforts, mutual respect and understanding.
Addressing the candidates, Bature said the endorsement came with high expectations for accountability, service and commitment to the welfare of all citizens.
“History remembers those who stand for what they believe in. Today, the Christian Youths Mobilization Front stands firmly and proudly with the candidates of the Allied Peoples’ Movement because we believe in a better future, peace, development and purposeful leadership,” he added.
Also speaking, CYMF Women Leader, Abigail James, said women have a critical role to play in the electoral process as they constitute a significant voting population.
She pledged that women across the state would mobilize support for the APM and its candidates through grassroots campaigns.
Similarly, the Youth Leader of CYMF, Aron Magaji, assured that youths would contribute to peaceful electioneering campaigns and would not allow themselves to be used to disrupt the political process.
He expressed confidence that the APM would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections, describing its candidates as capable and worthy of public support.
