2027: Niger ADC gov candidate picks Ex-Commissioner Manma Musa as running mate

The governorship candidate of Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Mohammed Kpautagi has announced a former commissioner Manma Musa as his running mate.

The unveiling of Manma Musa was held on Tuesday 11th August 2026, at IBB Pen House, Minna.

In his keynote address, Niger State ADC governorship candidate, Dr Mohammad Kpautagi, regretted that the people of the state have waited for so long yearning for change, yet, no meaningful impact had been to their lives in all sphere of human endeavor.

According to Kpautagi, “our mothers in the market still cry over high prices, our graduates are still roaming the streets, our hospitals lack drugs, our roads are bad, our farmers are afraid to go to farm. This must change and it will change,” he said.

Dr Mohammad enumerated some ADC’s promises with the people of the state which includes, no one would sleep with fear, ADC will work closely with security agencies as well as vigilantes to protect every community from the state capital to the last village,on job and economy,he said the party will support traders, farmers and youths, promising that it would bring back industries and make it easy for small businesses to grow, on Health and Environment.

The ADC candidate maintained that every local councils will have a functional health care center, adding that, schools would have enough teachers and learning materials and enabled environment.

Kpautagi also assured that his administration would accord priority on the basic need of life’s such as, roads but, not fly overs,water and adequate electricity supply to both urban and rural communities, noting that retirement benefits would be pay to pensioners as at when due.

In Kpautagi’s words “I am not coming with magic, I am coming with hard work, transparency and fear of God, with my Deputy, we are team player, to our opponents, this is not a fight, this is about who can serve better, to my people, 2027 is not about party, it is about your future, and your children’s future,” he noted.

Speaking shortly after his nomination, the ADC Deputy Governor nominee, Manma Musa, while accepting his nomination, promised to give his best to support Dr Kpautagi,and not to outshine him.

Musa, stressed that he accepted the nomination with the fear of God,and love for the people of the state.

According to Musa, “I am a very good team player, I can coordinate, I can organize, I have the patience, I have the loyalty and I have impactful ideas that would make a real change in Niger State”.

He noted that leadership is a matter of team work, assuring that if the party rest power from APC in the 2027 general elections,state ministries and it’s agencies would resume back to work in full service.

In Manma Musa’s words, “This nomination is not about me,is about us,is about the market women, and all the people across the local government councils of the state,the youths seeking job,the local woman,the teacher and every family to feel the devedent’s of the democracy,” he emphasized.

Manma Musa, served as Commissioner, Niger State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure Development, as well as Ministry of Planning Commission, during the previous administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
