Rep Manu Soro pulls out of 2027 race

The member of the House of Representatives, represeting Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, Hon Mansur Manu Soro, has announced his withdrawal from the 2027 general elections.

The statement reads, “With humility and respect Rep Mansur Manu Soro hereby announced to his constituents and the public that he will not contest the position of Bauchi Central Senatorial District and will not contest the Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections.

The statement further explained that the lawmaker is extending his deepest gratitudes to the people of Darazo -Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, the PDP and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for the generosity and support to contest the 2023 elections which pave way for his re-election at his constituency.

The lawmaker has assured his constituents that he will continue to focus his attention to the responsibilities and supporting the development of the area through education, healthcare, and other community projects especially his legacy projects of Gifted primary and secondary, National Open University (NOUN) study centre and four pediatric hospitals build in the constituency.

The lawmaker who had on 1st May 2026 exited his party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) citing internal division and irreconcilable wranglings bedeviling the party over the last two years.

Manu Soro subsequently join the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) with high speculation that he might contest Bauchi Central Senatorial District or his Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency under APM.

All efforts made to get the reactions of the State Chairman of APM Hon Auwal Isah was not successful as declined to pick several calls and did not respond to text message sent to him at the time of filing this report.
